The Paddle Canada Basic skills course is a prerequisite for the Advanced Flatwater skills award. This
3 hour course can also be used to sharpen up your flatwater skill set and build skills for more challenging water conditions. Safety and planning, equipment design and care, SUP heritage will be covered. Introduction to variety of strokes including an efficient forward stroke.

Advanced SUP skills
The Paddle Canada advanced skills course is a prerequisite for those aspiring to become a Basic or Advanced Flatwater Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Instructor. This 2-3 hour course can also be used to sharpen up your flatwater skill set and build skills for more challenging water conditions. Safety, water rescue, equipment and building a strong technical skill set will be covered. This will include pivot turns, powerful forward strokes and understanding the various stances and how to apply them in variable water conditions.
